I never expected to hear Conservative Ministers like Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt telling us in the UK to ignore concerns of major manufacturing and engineering businesses who are the cornerstone of our economy.
Johnson and Hunt haven’t actually said ‘we don’t need hi-tech business in Britain’ but that is the implication of their words this weekend. They haven’t actually said ‘engineering investment, productivity and skills don’t matter’ but that is the implication.
They appear to be uninformed and uninterested in some of the main ingredients of sustainable wealth creation.
